"Cicadas" is located at Lions and Rabbits gallery in the Creston neighborhood of Grand Rapids, Mi. This was my first large scale mural and was completed during the late summer of 2018. I chose cicadas as the subject for my first large scale mural because they symbolically represent rebirth and renewal. The theme of renewal connects to the mural's location in Grand Rapids' Creston neighborhood, which has recently experienced a boom in local businesses that has revitalized the area over the past few years.
